Meet the Fire Prevention Officer

A person in firefighter's uniform with a cap, badges, and a formal expression.

It is an privilege for me to serve you as the Fire Prevention Officer for the Avalon Fire Rescue District. I have been blessed to be a part of this department since 2007 when I joined as a volunteer while working a full time job in management. I graduated from the Pensacola Fire Academy in 2017, obtained my Fire Officer I and Fire Instructor I in 2018, and received my Associates of Fire Science in 2020. In June of 2023, I accepted a full time position with Avalon Fire Rescue and obtained my Fire Safety Inspector I certification later that year.

Our goal is to meet your needs through Fire Prevention practices that include permiting, inspections, school and community education, all coupled with the services already provided by our highly trained professionals of both career and volunteer firefighters. We provide prevention materials and station visits for anyone who is looking to learn more about our deparment and the fire service.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions, to schedule a visit,  or plan an community event that includes fire prevention opportunities. My email is tpeterson@avalonfirerescue.com or you can use the QR code / link below to schedule a meeting. Thank you and stay safe!
